FAQ
Below you’ll find a list of frequently asked questions and answers that will help you better understand all the wedding information that you may need to know. As more details become available, the website will be updated accordingly.
In June, Medellín enjoys average daytime temperatures of around 77°F (25°C), earning its nickname, The City of Eternal Spring. Mornings and evenings are typically pleasant, while afternoons can feel warmer. June is also part of the rainy season, so we recommend packing a light rain jacket or compact umbrella, just in case light showers are experienced.
Please RSVP by March 15th so we can finalize seating arrangements, transportation, catering, and all the special details for our celebration.
We’d love for everyone to be able to enjoy in our special day. However, we kindly ask that you please confirm with the bride and/or groom if additional guests are permitted outside of the invitee.
Taxis are readily available outside the airport and typically cost approximately COP $150,000, depending on your destination. Airport taxis generally accept cash only, so we recommend having Colombian pesos available.
While Uber operates in Medellín, we do not recommend requesting an Uber directly from the airport, as pickup procedures can be complicated. We do recommend Uber as a reliable and safe source of transportation as you explore Medellín.
Private transportation is also an excellent option, especially for families or groups. If you would like an English-speaking driver or would like us to arrange private transportation for you, please contact our wedding planner Catalina for a quote.
U.S. citizens do not require a visa for short tourist visits to Colombia.
Guests traveling from other countries should verify entry requirements with their local Colombian consulate before traveling.
Medellín offers an incredible variety of hotels and Airbnb accommodations. If choosing an Airbnb, we recommend selecting highly rated properties with the Superhost designation and staying in well-known neighborhoods.
While there will be a special group rate at selected hotels, we recommend that travelers conduct their own research to identify what makes the most sense financially.
Getting around Medellín is easy, affordable, and convenient.
-
The Medellín Metro is clean, safe, and a great way to explore.
-
Uber also operates within the city, and you may choose the cash payment option through the app if preferred.
-
Yes!
Complimentary transportation will be provided to the wedding venue and back for guests. If you do not plan to utilize the complimentary transportation provided, please be mindful of time. Traffic is heavy on Fridays in Medellin resulting in travel time to the venue anywhere between 35 – 40 mins.
As we get closer to the wedding, please refer to the wedding website for details on pick up location and time.
Yes!
We require that all guests dress in formal attire for our celebration.
For women, we request floor-length or long dresses/gowns. For men, a suit with a dress shirt, jacket, and tie is required. Please refer to the wedding website for colors to refrain from.
Please note that portions of the venue feature grass, pebbles, and natural pathways, so we recommend choosing elegant yet comfortable footwear.
Absolutely!
We'd be happy to help arrange professional hair and makeup services. Please reach out to our wedding planner, Catalina, for assistance in this area.
Our wedding will take place at beautiful Voila, which offers both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Expect warm daytime temperatures and cooler evenings. We recommend comfortable shoes suitable for natural terrain and bringing a light sweater or jacket for later in the evening.
There is so much to experience while you're visiting! Some of our favorite recommendations include:
-
Exploring Comuna 13 and its incredible street art.
-
Visiting Guatapé and climbing El Peñol Rock.
-
Taking a coffee farm tour in the surrounding mountains.
-
Riding the Medellín Metro Cable for breathtaking city views.
-
Walking through Jardín Botánico (Botanical Garden).
-
Visiting Plaza Botero and the Museum of Antioquia.
-
Dining in the vibrant neighborhoods of El Poblado and Laureles.
-
Dining at Elcielo Medellín Restaurant featured by the Michelin Guide and led by Michelin-starred chef Juan Manuel Barrientos. The sooner you can make reservations the better!
-
Exploring Pueblito Paisa located in Cerro Nutibara providing panoramic views of Medellín while viewing the typical architecture of Antioquia.
-
Enjoying Provenza known for its restaurants, cafes & bars. Provenza can be enjoyed day or night.
-
Shopping at local boutiques and modern shopping centers.
-
The local currency is the Colombian Peso (COP).
Most restaurants, hotels, shopping centers, and larger businesses accept major credit cards.
For small purchases, taxis, neighborhood shops, or local markets, it's helpful to carry some cash. ATMs are widely available throughout the city, and currency exchange services can be found at major shopping centers.
We recommend exchanging currency after leaving the airport, as airport exchange counters typically offer less favorable rates than banks or local exchange offices.
Your presence is truly the greatest gift we could ask for.
A card box will be available during the reception for your well wishes.
